19 CHRISTMAS QUESTION
01 What's your routine on Christmas morning?
Open Santa gifts. We have coffee, milk juice,rolls and
pastry,then later on we get the breakfast/brunch going
while the kids are engaged in what Santa brought them.
The brunch goes fast for everyone is anxious to
exchange & open presents. We skip lunch and have an
early dinner; Honey baked ham with hash browns,
asparagus, rice and sausage topped with cranberry
and steamed veggies.
02 - The best Christmas I ever spent was....
Many but I can't forget the one where my siblings
and i were able to have a family reunion at our
parents' house in Carcar in February. Since we never
are able to be together for Christmas ( too busy with
our own lives) we decided to have a make believe
Christmas day in February. So we had a tree, wreaths
and presents wrapped in Christmas paper. Our aunts
uncles and relatives also came. It was a great
celebration as our parents were still in good health
and old age hasn't diminished their quality of life.
03 - What do you do Christmas Eve?
After church we have a nice dinner and spend
quality time by playing games,watch a movie and
call family/friends we don't get to see much.We
don't open presents. We make sure we leave Santa
milk and cookies before bed.

06 - What sits on top of your Christmas Tree?
A teddy Santa bear on one tree and a star on the other
07 - Who cooks Christmas dinner?
We always order honey baked ham, we just do the
fixins, like potatoes, vegetables - asparagus, fruits
08 - What is your favorite Christmas dish?
Honey baked ham, hash browns & rice & sausage
my special recipe.
09 - What is your favorite holiday dessert?
Pies - blueberry pie and pecan pie
10 - Favorite holiday traditions with your family?
A trip to Chesaning, 92 miles away, after Thanksgiving
where the homes and public places are lit with candles
in a brown bag filled with sand. It's beautiful,awesome
and romantic as you ride in a horse drawn carriage.
Sometimes we have chestnuts in an open fire...really.
A trip to Frankenmuth,90 miles, where it's Christmas all year
round. We enjoy the chicken Bavarian style lunch or dinner
and bring back their famous stollen bread to share with
friends and kids' teachers as gifts.Can't imagine a Christmas
without going to Frankenmuth.
11 - What’s your favorite part of Christmas Day?
The brunch and exchanging gifts and watching
the grandkids open their presents.
12 - Christmas Shopping, carefully planned or last minute?
Mostly beforehand but last minute works too.
13 - The best Christmas present I ever got was.....
A trip to Grand Rapids, MI which was a combination
of birthday-Christmas gift. Overnight stay at the W-new
Marriott on the CONCIERGE level, my very first, and
saw the NUTCRACKER, visited the Frederick's Meijer
Gardens, and indulged in a French manicure plus good
wine to take home. It was fun, thanks to my daughter!
14 - Favorite Holiday Memory as a Child?
I came down the stairs and stop midway, heard my parents
reading our letters to Santa. At the time there was just me
and two sisters. I couldn't tell them who the real Santa is.
15 - What is your favorite movie to watch around the holidays?
The Polar Express

Jingle Bells and Feliz Navidad
